Lisa Maier

Lisa Maier studied cultural studies, art theory, and German literature at the Universities of Bremen and Ljubljana. In Slovenia she turned her attention to the region of Southeast Europe. During her studies, she was among others working for the Landeszentrale für Politische Bildung Bremen (in the field of culture mediation), the Art and Artists House Schwankhalle, and the Cultural Centers Schlachthof and Lagerhaus. She has completed various internships and jobs in the fields of press and public relations, editing, event organization, and stage direction.

She was an assistant to the director of the International Youth Theater Festival "Explosive" and to the festival management of "goEast - Festival of Central and Eastern European Film" at the German Film Institute, Frankfurt/Main. Through this film-related work, she discovered her special interest in documentary film.

Following her studies, she completed a training at the Robert Bosch Stiftung in Stuttgart in the program area which is now called "International Relations - Europe and its Neighbors."

From 2010 to 2013, she has been program assistant for the program "Robert Bosch Cultural Managers in Central and Eastern Europe." She was part of the team that designed new program concepts as follow-ups.

Since February 2014 she is working as project manager in the Department of Labor and Economic Development / European Affairs of the City of Munich where she is organizing the annual conference of the city network EUROCITIES.
